3 Ways Toe Separators Can Relieve Arthritis in Your Feet

DuraFlex Gel Toe Seperators

Waking up every morning with stiff and painful toes, heels and ankles is not a great way to start the day.

You want to just spring out of bed but you can’t.

You want to go out for a walk but you shouldn’t.

What begins as annoyance will eventually snowball into despair if you don’t seek a way to treat your condition now rather than sooner or later.

The little known gel toe separators or straighteners have found their way into the lives of many who suffer from arthritis in their feet, particularly the toes and heel.

Here are 3 ways that they’ve played important roles in reducing the pain brought on by arthritis, overlapping toes, bunions, plantar fasciitis and other foot problems.

1. Reduced Friction and Pressure Between the Toes

Cartilage is a tough, smooth and elastic connective tissue that serves the purpose of protecting the joints.

It’s relatively susceptible to damage, whether it be from age (typically adults 40 and over) or physical injury. As the cartilage wears away, joints become stiffer and moving around becomes more difficult and painful.

Wearing gel toe separators prevents the toe joints from rubbing together, essentially minimising cartilage loss.

There are more joints in the toes than anywhere else on the feet, and if their protective cartilage becomes severely worn out, then the bones will rub together and cause tissue inflammation, not to mention even more pain.

2. Stretches Out the Toe Muscles and Ligaments

We’ve all experienced it before and perhaps you still do; cramped toes inside of high heels or other tight footwear.

Walking for long periods of time in them is extremely harmful on the natural structure of your toes. This isn’t just detrimental if you suffer from arthritis and other foot related conditions, but it also hugely affects athletes, dancers, gymnasts, yoga practitioners, city workers, travellers – practically everyone.

The great thing about our gel toe separators is that you can comfortably wear them with socks and shoes, so your toes won’t be too compressed or muscles too tight inside your footwear.

As a result of wearing toe separators on a consistent basis, the muscles and ligaments surrounding your toes will strengthen and become more flexible, thus improving the posture and alignment of your feet.

3. Reduces Emotional and Mental Stress

While being in a much better emotional state is not directly related to foot pain, it is however, directly related to your well being.

Being in pain everyday weighs heavy on you emotionally, mentally and eventually physically.

If you can lift the burden of stress and frustration from your foot woes, then why wouldn’t you?

A bout of stress causes a burst of hormones in your body which affects the way you think, feel, behave and how your body functions.

If stress levels become more frequent, these hormones will remain in your body and negative effects will become a regular occurance.

Headaches, dizziness, muscle fatigue, loss of sleep or appetite, low confidence,  anxiety and uncontrollable anger are all common symptoms of someone suffering from high stress levels.

Whether you suffer from arthritis, overlapping toes, plantar fasciitis, bunions or any other foot related problem, our DuraFlex Gel Toe Separators (see this product here) provides a daily solution to coping with the pain in your feet much easier.
