How to Use the Bunion Corrector Splints

It’s quick and easy to use our ActiveRestore Bunion Corrector Splints. Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Open the bunion splint and lay it flat on the floor.
  2. Place your foot over the bunion splint so that your mid-foot is aligned with the mid-section of the splint and your big toe with the upper section.
  3. Wrap the bunion strap around your big toe first and pull the velcro strap to tighten it.
  4. Do the same with the mid-section. Adjust its tightness to straighten your big toe to the point where you feel slight pressure without pain.
  5. Lastly, fasten the velcro heel strap to secure the bunion splint.
  6. Once you’re used to that level of pressure, tighten it slightly every 2-3 weeks so that there’s a gradual straightening of the bunion.

You may feel slight discomfort when first wearing the bunion splint, but this should be reduced after your big toe gets used to its new position. You should aim to wear the splint for 2-4 hours daily/nightly.

If you feel any severe pain, you should loosen it slightly and reduce the wearing time. If the pain persists, you should stop using the bunion splint and see your local GP or a foot specialist.
